Chinese Antique Jujube Wine Barrel

A remarkable 19th-century Chinese wine barrel, handcrafted from substantial jujube root wood, a dense and exceptionally durable hardwood prized for its strength, rich grain, and longevity. Weighing an impressive 15.1 pounds, the pot has a solid, substantial presence that speaks to its utilitarian origins and traditional craftsmanship. Constructed from thick sections of solid wood and reinforced by heavy solid iron bands, the barrel retains its original wooden lid with carrying handle and wooden plug.
